Milwaukee Institute Officers

  Dr. Jay Bayne, Executive Director

Jay S. Bayne received his B.Sc (70), M.Sc.(71), and Ph.D. (76) degrees in electrical engineering and computer science from the University of California at Santa Barbara. He was Professor of Computer Science at California Polytechnic State University from 1973-1984.

In 1976 he founded his first company, Protocol Solutions, Inc. which he sold in 1985. From 1985-1998 he held VP Technology positions for global engineering companies (Combustion Engineering, Bailey Controls, ABB) involved in the design and application of high-assurance, real-time distributed control systems for automation of a wide range of continuous industrial processes. From 1998-2002 he was CTO of the Controls Group of Johnson Controls, Inc. He is presently CEO of his second company Meta Command Systems, Inc. and Executive Director of the Milwaukee Institute (www.mkei.org).

He is Adjunct Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Dr. Bayne has published extensively on the science and technology of interactive real-time systems and cybernetics and their application to the governance of cyberphysical systems (CPS).

 
  Mr. Jonathon Gladieux, Director of Operations

As Director of Operations, Mr. Gladieux is responsible for the information technology systems and the operational activities of the Institute. His duties include managing vendor and customer relationships, administrating the Institute's high-performance computing system, handling the Institute's fiscal and accounting functions, and assisting the Executive Director.

Concurrently, Mr. Gladieux is employed with Mason Wells as its Information Technology Administrator and Accounting Assistant to the CFO. In this capacity, Mr. Gladieux oversees its information technology systems and assists in the accounting and financial servicing of Mason Wells and its Funds.

Before joining Milwaukee Institute, Mr. Gladieux was an Enterprise Management Analyst and a Software Engineer with Quad/Graphics Inc. for 7 years. During this tenure, Mr. Gladieux developed software to complement and enhance third-party software packages that proactively monitor Quad/Graphics' information systems. Prior to his employment with Quad/Graphics, Mr. Gladieux worked as a software consultant for Renal Care Group.

Mr. Gladieux earned a B.S. in Computer Science from Indiana University Bloomington and a M.B.A. in Finance from University of Wisconsin Milwaukee.
