June 22, 2009 - The Milwaukee Institute, acting as Principal Investigator and in collaboration with Source IT Energy (SITE), We Energies, Rockwell Automation, Dedicaated Computing and Hardcore Computer, is preparing a Department of Energy (DOE) demonstration proposal for innovative information and cooling technologies related to significant improvements data center power efficiencies. The proposal is being developed in response to the June 3, 2009 DOE-FOA-000017 solicitation. The due date is July 21, 2009, with award notification in Septemebr, 2009. The proposal seeks funding for technology development and an associated "proof of concept" demonstration supporting a planned MGrid Menomonee Valley Data Center (MVDC) to be located adjacent to We Energies' Menomonee Valley Power Plant (MVPP).
