April 6, 2009. The Milwaukee Institute, Inc and Wolfram Research, Inc (WRI, www.wolfram.com), makers of Mathematica, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). Under the MOU, WRI has granted the Institute non-commercial licenses for its flagship Mathematica 7 and gridMathematica products for use with the Institute's High-Performance Computing Cluster (HPCC). The licenses will be used to develop presentations and online demonstrations of scientific and economic models relavant to regional scientific, commercial and eduational activities. A recent article in HPCwire explains the value of Mathematica 7 in representing scientifically interesting problems. An example of its power in parallel computating is demonstrated by the following WRI screencast.
