Institute Executive Director Jay Bayne was an invited to participant in IBM's annual Almaden Institute. This year's theme was "Innovation with Information," (more info) and included the topic of need for a new "services science" competent to deal with the explosion of transactional (e.g., web search) and real-time (e.g., scientific instrumentation) information. A whitepaper on this emerging science was recently released by IBM (Almaden Research Lab) and Cambridge University (UK), and is available to the left.
